Pennies for Peace

Every year Vanessa Davis, a past teacher and good friend of the School, addresses the Children during an assembly to promote ‘Pennies for Peace’. This campaign is organised by Pax Christi, the Church’s Peace Movement, and its main concern is to support innocent victims of war around the world. We support this campaign each year by collecting pennies (and other coins) in a container of the children’s choice and presenting the money collected at the beginning of a special Peace themed mass at St Pius X. This year the mass was on 10^th February at 11am. This coincided with the First Holy Communion programme mass which has the theme of Peace. This year we collected over £250.
