THE CATHOLIC CHILDREN’S SOCIETY
The Catholic Children’s Society are situated on the south side of the St Charles Square. We have supported them over many years by taking part in their annual Lenten appeal. We also attend their annual Christmas Liturgy and Good Shepherd mass at Westminster Cathedral. The School Chaplaincy have also helped in the Office and helped with administrative tasks. The CCS have also been incredibly generous to us by providing financial help to a number of our families through their crisis fund.
Fr Peter Wilson is our School Chaplain. He is the parish priest of St Pius X Catholic Church which is situated next door to us on the eastern side of St Charles Square. Fr Peter visits the School regularly and works closely with the RE Coordinator and the School Chaplaincy. We visit the Church regularly throughout the year for School Liturgies. Along with the parish, the School co-runs the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Eucharist programmes. Many of our pupils are altar servers. We also donate our Harvest Festival contributions to the parish soup kitchen and to needy families of the parish each Autumn. We also hold a Christmas raffle to raise money for parish families at Christmas.
The Sisters of Carmel are our neighbours. The choir and orchestra visit them every Christmas and Easter to perform for them. We sing carols and play beautiful pieces of music for them as an orchestra as well as solo pieces. This is our way of saying thank you to them for remembering our School community in their prayers each day.
